A minimalistic , attractive cabin that has everything you need. Good, solid furniture, comfortable beds, towels, soaps etc. full kitchen, plus a wonderful outdoor porch out over Lake Pontchartrain with rockers and table & chairs. Well heated. Reasonably priced. Will return !
This is our second trip from MN to this state park. We tent camped two nights and then spoiled ourselves with three nights in a cabin. It was wonderful. Perfect sunsets every night. A few small quality issues like A/C not strong enough and a deck board fell off in the water while we were down there.
Went with two of my boys for their first "camping" adventure. They were stoked about the bunk beds. I was stoked about the cleanliness, the roominess, and the excellent wifi (though they did block some sites like Google Drive?). We were in cabin 5 and it's a beautiful experience, right on the water. Air conditioning worked but who needed it with the amazing sea breeze blowing through? Nice common area for bonfires and picnics and docks to fish from. Our neighbors had a nice screened-in porch that we enjoyed after hours. Waves crashing provided great white noise.
The cabin was clean, nice and cozy! The view from the patio was breathtaking and seating on the patio (rocking chairs) were provided. I would definitely recommend!
Beautiful cabins on the water! The place was very clean and feels very homely. This place has a playground, nature trails and historic sites to visit and learn about. It also has a lovely beach to hang out on. There is also camping available for campers, tents or you can rent out a new tentr site. A nice place to spend the weekend with family. Only con is finding a cabin availability. They always seem to be booked.
We are in Cabin 6. These cabins and the park itself are hidden gems right in our back yard. We came here from Baton Rouge and within minutes of turning into the park it felt like we were HUNDREDS of miles away. It is breathtaking. You cannot beat a vacation for the price of these cabins. They are really clean, roomy and modern. The screen porch is a must. I personally would make sure to rent a cabin with the screen porch facing the Lake. There is wildlife galore. We will absolutely return.
this is an all-around great family experience. the only bad thing I can say is that the new rates are disappointing because they put this out of a reach of many people
The cabins are perfect for a nice weekend getaway. The place pretty much had everything we needed to get by for the weekend. Beautiful scenery in the park and on the lake. We did utilize a fire ring at cabin 3, however a ranger came by and told us we needed to put the fire out bc it wasn't supposed to be there. Besides that, we had a great time and will definitely be back.
